Automatic Job Timestamps

Automatic Job Timestamps remove the need for drivers to manually enter call times. When a driver is assigned to a call, the system creates a geo-fence around the job location and uses the driver's location activity to automatically update timestamps as the job progresses.

This helps ensure call time records are accurate and consistent without depending on drivers to remember to log each status change.

This feature is enabled by default. You only need to take action if you want to turn it off.

How it works

  • When a driver is assigned to a call, a geo-fence is created around the job location

  • As the driver's location changes, the system detects arrival and job progress automatically

  • Timestamps are updated in the call record without any manual input from the driver

How to enable or disable Automatic Job Timestamps

Step 1 — Open Dispatch Anywhere Settings

Log in to settings.dispatchanywhere.net, then select D.A. for Drivers from the left-side menu.

Step 2 — Toggle the setting

Locate the Automatic Job Timestamps setting:

  • Checked — Feature is enabled (default)

  • Unchecked — Feature is disabled

Check or uncheck the box based on your preference, then save.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this feature on by default?

Yes. Automatic Job Timestamps are enabled by default for all accounts. You do not need to turn it on unless it was previously disabled.

What triggers the automatic timestamps?

When a driver is assigned to a call, the system creates a geo-fence around the job location and tracks the driver's location activity to determine arrival and job progress.

Do drivers need to do anything for this to work?

No. As long as the feature is enabled and the driver has location services active on their device, timestamps update automatically.

Can timestamps still be edited manually if needed?

Yes. Auto-generated timestamps can be reviewed and adjusted manually if a correction is needed.

Where is this setting configured?

The setting is in D.A. for Drivers under your Dispatch Anywhere Settings page.
