What is driver tipping?

Dispatch Anywhere users with Towpay credit card processing can activate driver tipping, which gives customers the option to leave a tip for their operator.

Tipping is not enabled by default. To add this feature or sign up for Towpay, email [email protected].

How do I enable tipping for an account?

Tipping is activated for your company first, then turned on per account as needed.

  1. Select Accounts and choose the account you want to enable.

  2. Go to the Towpay Payments section to turn on tipping and, optionally, to request 3D Secure.

What is 3D Secure?

3D Secure adds an extra layer of verification to Link to Pay payments. It's only available when the customer's card network supports it.

How do customers leave a tip?

Once tipping is enabled, customers can leave a tip at checkout for both Link to Pay and card-present transactions.

  • Link to Pay - the customer gets a text or email link that lets them leave a tip for the driver discreetly.

  • Card-Present and Manual Entry - the driver is shown a tip-selection screen on their device and turns it toward the customer to choose a tip amount.

Where can I see how much drivers earned in tips?

The Tips by Driver report is in the Accounting section of Reports. It lists each driver along with the job date, job number, and tip amount for every call.
