Overview

The Driver Checklist is a pre-shift checklist that drivers complete after scanning into a vehicle using the Dispatch Anywhere mobile app. Administrators can create and manage checklist items from the Settings page, assign items to specific vehicles or all vehicles, and control the order items appear to drivers.

The Driver Checklist feature requires Enable Driver Checklist and Enable QR Scan Assignment to be turned on under Settings > D.A. For Drivers.

How to access the Driver Checklist

  1. Log in to the Dispatch Anywhere Settings page at https://settings.dispatchanywhere.net/ using your company administrator credentials.

  2. From the main menu, select Dictionaries.

  3. Choose Driver Checklist from the sub-menu.

Step-by-step: Create or update a Driver Checklist

Step 1 — Add checklist items

Create a list of items you want drivers to review after scanning into a vehicle. For each item, use the vehicle assignment dropdown to control which vehicles the item applies to:

Dropdown selection

Behavior

All

The item appears for every vehicle when a driver scans in.

Specific vehicle

The item only appears when a driver scans into that specific vehicle.

Step 2 — Set the display order

To control the order items appear to drivers, drag and drop each item into the desired position. Items display to drivers in the exact order set here.

Step 3 — Save your changes

Once all changes are complete, click Save at the top of the page. Changes take effect immediately — drivers will see the updated checklist the next time they scan into a vehicle.

Frequently asked questions

Where do drivers see the checklist?

Drivers are prompted to complete the checklist in the Dispatch Anywhere mobile app immediately after scanning a vehicle QR code. They must complete the checklist before they can view or accept jobs.

Can I assign different checklists to different vehicles?

There is one shared checklist, but individual items can be scoped to a specific vehicle using the vehicle dropdown. Items set to All appear for every vehicle. Items assigned to a specific vehicle only appear for drivers scanning into that vehicle.

What happens if a driver skips the checklist?

Drivers cannot bypass the checklist — it must be completed after scanning in before they can proceed to view jobs in the app.

Do I need to notify drivers after updating the checklist?

No. Changes are applied immediately and drivers will see the updated checklist on their next scan-in. No app update or manual refresh is required.

The Driver Checklist option is not visible in the menu — why?

The checklist feature requires Enable Driver Checklist to be turned on under Settings > D.A. For Drivers > General. Also confirm you are logged in with company administrator credentials, as this option is not visible to non-admin users.

Can I delete or archive checklist items?

Yes. Items can be removed from the checklist at any time from the Driver Checklist page. Click Save after making any removals for changes to take effect.
