How to Disconnect a User

As a company administrator, you can remotely log out any user from Dispatch Anywhere (desktop) or DA Mobile at any time. This is useful when a user has left a session open, is locked out, or needs to be forced off the system immediately.

Important: The disconnect is immediate. Any unsaved work the user has open will be lost. Let the user know before disconnecting if possible.

What you'll need

Steps

Step 1 — Log in as a Company Administrator

Go to settings.dispatchanywhere.net and sign in with your company administrator account. You will not see the disconnect option if you are logged in with a standard user account.

Step 2 — Find the User

Select Users from the left toolbar and locate the user you want to disconnect. Active sessions are identified by icons next to the user's name:

  • Computer icon — User is currently signed into Dispatch Anywhere on a PC

  • Phone icon — User is currently signed into DA Mobile

If no icon is showing, the user is not currently logged in.

Step 3 — Disconnect the User

Select the user and press the Disconnect button. The user is logged off immediately across all active sessions.

What happens after disconnecting

  • The user is logged out instantly — there is no delay or warning sent to them

  • Any unsaved work in their session is lost

  • The user can log back in immediately after being disconnected

  • Disconnecting does not disable or delete the user account

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a standard user disconnect someone else?

No. Only a company administrator account has access to the Disconnect button in Settings.

Will the disconnected user lose their work?

Yes. Any unsaved work in their open session is lost when they are disconnected. There is no auto-save or recovery for work in progress at the time of disconnect.

Can I disconnect a user who is on DA Mobile?

Yes. The phone icon indicates an active DA Mobile session. The Disconnect button will log them out of mobile the same way it does for desktop.

Does disconnecting a user disable their account?

No. Disconnecting only ends the active session. The user's account remains active and they can log back in immediately.

What if I don't see any icon next to a user?

No icon means the user is not currently logged in. There is nothing to disconnect.
